Selling your own Classical
CDs
If you have classical CDs for sale - and particularly if you want
to sell them through eBay, then you can list them on this web site
at no charge.
Why we set up Classical CDs for sale?
When we inherited several hundred classical CDs
our initial plan was to sell them on eBay. We followed a few auctions
of similar items and realised that it wasn't as straightforward
as we expected.
Out of the hundreds of thousands of ebay users, there aren't that
many who are looking for classical music. There are even fewer looking
for the more specialist titles we had available.
It was clear that, if we put our CDs up for auction with a low start
price and no reserve - we would probably sell them but for much
less than they were worth. If we set a realistic reserve, then we
would probably be relisting them for months.
Feed to eBay
We set up this web site as a shop window and to act as a feed to
eBay auctions with a "Buy it Now" link for immediate purchase.
Listing your CDs
If you sell classical CDs - in ones or twos or in larger numbers
- then you are welcome to list them on the Classical CDs for Sale
site.
Why are we offering free listing?
We would like the site to continue to have a life and be of use
even after the finite collection of CDs we have to sell are all
gone.
How to get your CD's listed
Initially, please contact
Ian, our webmaster. You will need to let him have a list of
the titles you have available together with an image for each disc.
There is no charge.
